New Teacher Feature: Ms. Martinez

Updated: May 21, 2020

Teacher Joline Martinez, like most, is not a morning person, but after having her coffee she is ready to go. At a young age, Martinez learned what it was to be a professional through her father’s work ethic and how structured he was. Finding her independence at the age of 16, Joline Martinez moved out of her house and was ready for the world. It was through teachers and self realization that Martinez became inspired to become a math teacher. Her path for success took her from an internship at Washington to Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Madera to finally coming here at Minarets.

Martinez explained that she is an educator because she wanted the chance to motivate kids to succeed and to help direct them. Through building relationships, she hopes she can uplift kids and inspire them the same way she was inspired by her teachers.

Martinez is already enjoying her time at Minarets with how "welcoming the students and teachers are, all the range of kids, learning about their culture is really cool!” She's impressed with how strong our school spirit is and how engaging and attentive the students are. It seems we have impressed our new math teacher, but, of course, its because WE ARE MINARETS!
