Minarets Represented at the Annual Heart Walk

The American Heart Association, or AHA, is the first and the biggest non-profit organization committed to fighting strokes and heart disease. Every year, AHA hosts their premier fundraising event, the Heart Walk, held in a multitude of cities across the nation. These events not only raise money for the victims of Heart Disease, but it also raises awareness and support for survivors on top of educating people about this horrible illness that affects so many. Essentially, it entails multiple different walks and runs to promote a healthier heart, as well as free food and booths from various businesses.

In the Central Valley, the annual Heart Walk took place on October 21st in Tesoro Viejo, which is an upcoming community off of Highway 41. The event, starting at 7:30am, was a success with a large crowd and a lot of participation and positivity all around.

This year, Minarets Show Band, Key Club, and Chawanakee Unified School District were proud to be a part of it. Our two booths were not only were representing the Chawanakee Unified School District as a whole, but also promoting and informing the community about the new K-8 school, Hillside Elementary, that will soon be located within the Tesoro Viejo development. In addition, our very own show band was able to take the stage and get the participants hyped for the walk.

Overall, it was a day filled with good spirits and abundant support for sufferers and survivors of heart disease.
