So, the end of the semester is coming up, which can be pretty stressful. Final projects and presentations and the stress of getting grades up can result in unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Let's not do that.

Here are some GOOD ways to cope with StREsS.

  • Listen to your favorite music

  • If music puts you in your happy place, then go for it!

  • Remind yourself of something you’re looking forward to

  • We’ve all heard the quote “30 years from now it won't matter what shoes you wore, how your hair looked or what jeans you bought; what will matter is what you learned and how you used it”, or something close to that. Take that into consideration and try to focus on goals and what you want out of life.

  • GET Rest

  • All-nighters can be counterproductive, let your mind rest.

  • Stay away from too much caffeine

  • Not to sound like a mom, but caffeine is really bad for stress. Sure, it keeps you awake but caffeine can increase levels of cortisol in your body. Cortisol is basically a stress hormone, and stress on top of stress is a mess.

  • Take it one step at a time

  • You know that almost afraid feeling you get when you look at all the assignments you have to turn in, and you don’t know where to start? Begin with the small assignments, and work your way up.

  • Create

  • Music, writing, and art are great outlets for when you’re feeling stressed. Even admiring art others made could inspire you.

Hopefully you got some ideas for combatting stress.

Good luck with all the upcoming deadlines and don't forget to take care of yourself!
