We have two hands, one to help ourselves and one to help others. On Friday December 22, Minarets students and staff are again choosing to dedicate the last day of the semester to giving back to our community. Students and teachers come together to find someway to give back.
Last year was the inaugural Community Day and events included students cleaning up Road 200, making gift tags and cards for families at Valley Children's Hospital, restoring the trail behind the Sierra Mono Museum in North Fork, caroling for veterans, making care packages for active military members, and much more.
The day with will start the annual pancake breakfast organized by Minarets Key Club and Kiwanis then students will move onto to giving back. This year's activities include making toys for the SPCA, building gingerbread houses with the elderly, gift distribution to the community, trash pick up, and much much more. Each Minarets teacher has a different activity that you can sign up for so be sure to talk with them. The day will conclude with the annual school-wide gift exchange!
If you're a Minarets students, grab your friends and start signing up to give back on December 22!
If you're a community member, tune in to the live broadcast that will Minarets Media will be doing that day!
