Are you ready to get groovy, Mustangs? The annual Sadie Hawkins dance is right around the corner! It will be held on Friday, March 16th from 7:30 to 10:30pm in the Minarets gym. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased in the media lounge during lunch, or before/after school hours. Be sure to get them as early as possible, as they are being sold for $25 each until March 2nd. After that, from March 5th-15th, they will be sold for $35, and then for $50 at the door. Students are required to have at least a 2.3 GPA with no more than one F. And if you have a song you want to hear on the dance floor, songs can be suggested here.

This year, the theme of the dance is Retro, chosen by our very own leadership team. We spoke to sophomore leadership member, Luna Moreno, to learn more about it. “We decided to choose a relatively open theme so the students could have more creative freedom.” Students have the ability to choose any style from any era, so you can expect to see anything from flower-children to punk-rockers to 90’s grunge.

Though Sadies is a known opportunity for girls to ask their dates, we want to remind students that there is nothing wrong with going solo! Crystal Hernandez, 11th grade, explains, “Tickets are being sold individually instead of double to show that it is okay to go without a date!”

So whether you’ve got that special somebody, a good group of friends, or just going on your own — Retro Sadies is sure to be a blast!
