On March 14th, 2018 Minarets Students and Teachers participated in the walkout to honor all the lost souls in school violence. School walkouts are a way for students to speak their minds in a peaceful way about violence in schools. This walkout was not just nationwide, but worldwide.

Junior Lauren Childers stated “I was excited to partake in this event with my fellow classmates to stand up for something we believe in. It was also nice to see some of my teachers joining us as well. I appreciate that the school allowed and encouraged us to join the walkout.” Students from almost every class joined in on the walkout on March 14th as well as teachers like Miss Morgan.

We at Minarets Press would like to thank anyone who participated in the school walkout. It a world that is changing and is becoming more and more of a chaotic environment, it is crucial that we stand together during these

times. We are the future, so we should have a say in how we want our futures to look like.
