Rolling Out the Red Carpet for Future Mustangs

Updated: May 24, 2020

Charter Night is focused on welcoming our soon-to-be incoming Mustangs to Minarets High School. Leadership and FFA students worked together to make sure everything ran smoothly and led touring groups around the campus.

Future Mustangs were able to meet our coaches, including volleyball coach Chacon, baseball coach Darr, and football coach Becher, and learn about other sports that Minarets High School offers. They also had the opportunity to see work from our gifted art students, a performance by our Showband, and a quick round of Parliamentary Procedure by FFA members. Senior Novena Valentine was in charge of the art gallery and described her feelings on the event: “It is important to help people make the final decision on which school to pick, the kids got to see the school first hand, meeting the students, and getting to know the culture.”

Up at the gym, students were entertained by performances put on by both our Dance Club and our Drama member Emma Lynch while Ag Mechanics teacher Chapman gave a run down of the mechanic classes he teaches and the opportunities in welding that are extended to students. Senior Natalie Anselmo an FFA member expressed that “Charter night

allows students to understand what we have to offer and all about our FFA chapter, all the different teams. It helps show how special and different minarets is from other schools.”

Minaret isn’t just about the clubs but about the different people brought together in one place. The tradition of Minarets to welcome new mustangs continues.
