Class Registration: What You Need to Know

Spring Break is quickly approaching as April 15 to 22, 2019, but some pivotal decisions must be made before the week of relaxation. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will be choosing their classes for upcoming year over the next two weeks. This moment is essential as students are given the choice of what classes they'd like to take and electives as well; whether or not they'd like to try some AP courses, take an extra year in Spanish, or pick up from a beginner level elective and advance on in it (for example picking up Guitar II after taking Guitar I).

Counselors Claudia Vandenburgh and Jessica Chacon will be visiting classes during the weeks leading up to Spring Break and go to each class to work with students as they select their classes. It's all online through Powerschool so it is easily done on your computer. Some classes are mandatory for each grade level, but the choice of certain classes you take are up to you.

Chacon gave her own tips about the process of picking classes: "Picking electives you are passionate about and staying along its given path. Always strive to the best of your abilities, as well as challenging yourself when you can. No one experiences growth in his or her comfort zone."

Not sure what classes to take? Talk to your counselors, teachers, friends for recommmendations on what to take.
