It was a fun time for the Minarets Mustangs who traveled to China Peak with the Glissader Club on Thurs. Feb. 6.
It was a hot day for the kids at China Peak. The snow was not the best; it was very icy first thing in the morning, then when the sun came out it was a slushy type of snow. One of the ski instructors said they might close China Peak early because they are not getting enough snow, and when they get snow it is slushy snow and just really gross.
Leah Hansen described the conditions, “It was very hot and I was not prepared for that so I wish I brought stuff for hotter weather. I also did not like how the snow was. it was not good snow to ski in, but I hope next year it will be better.”
Despite the less than ideal conditions, over fifty students attended the trip and the majority had a great time. Sophomore Kayla Vasquez said, “this was a really nice trip. I hated waking up really early but other than that I had a good time.”
We are hoping there will be another China Peak trip next year. Thank you to chaperones Ryan Hansen and Michael Vaughan!
