Minarets Equestrian Team

Updated: May 20, 2020

By Jazmin Alba and Deven Skouti

If you haven’t noticed our amazing Equestrian team, you're missing out. These girls do performances and carry our loved American flag at all our home football games. They practice 1-2 times a week and create new routines. We have both a junior and senior team, like JV and Varsity. Juniors ride during JV and seniors ride during varsity.

Aside performing at games, they compete in competitions. The girls travel with their coach, Chloe Ferguson, to different places and compete against other schools. The competitions include western, english and gymkhana. Western includes showmanship, halter, horsemanship, western pleasure classes and trail. English has showmanship, hunter under saddle, jumping and more. Gymkhana consists of barrel racing, pole bending, single stake, big T, keyhole, flag race and more. The girls work hard every week to have their horses at top shape to perform.

If you see them around make sure to give them a positive comment!
