The Minarets Volleyball teams are an extraordinary group of girls, with both the JV and Varsity teams going undefeated this season. With such impressive plays, it is no surprise that our Varsity team has made it to Playoffs this year. This year is special, however, because it is their first year playing Division 3. The first game of Playoffs was on Thursday, November 2nd against Dinuba in the Minarets gym, with Minarets coming out on top.
Last year the team won Valley Championship, and coach Jessica Chacon says that this year has been “Challenging because we only had 2 returning players. It was a brand new fresh team” but that “they’ve definitely risen to the occasion, and they’re doing an exceptional job”.
Junior Olivia Kaczmarek joined the volleyball team this year after transferring to Minarets and comments that “...as an outsider, it was easy to see that there was something special about Minarets volleyball” and since joining the team she loves the people she plays with and that she is “so thankful for my team, my family!!”.
Be sure to support our Minarets Volleyball girls by cheering them on at the Quarter Finals this Tuesday, November 7th, at 6:30pm at the Minarets Gym.
If anyone is interested in trying the sport, Mrs. Chacon has important advice: “Never be afraid to try… failure is fuel”.
