Boys Soccer

Updated: May 20, 2020

December 19th may have seemed like a regular night, but for the Minarets Boys Soccer team it was the night of their rival game against Yosemite High School. While it was already intense with Minarets playing its mountain area rival, the muddy field and freezing temperatures amped up the fierceness according to the players. Since Yosemite is our mountain area rivals the game was immediately 10x more interesting. The freezing temperatures were no matter for the players as they kept their energy high with the help of the enthusiastic crowd.

Teammates Ashton Freeland and Nick Roland played that night and described the game. Ashton explained that “it was a very well fought equal match” and Nick expressed his opinion about how all the players were especially fierce out on the field.

Minarets graduate and former girls soccer player Brianna Roland attended the game and it was well fought with both teams who played well. Her favorite part of game was when her brother, Nick Roland, broke his nose during the game. Overall, she thinks the boys soccer team has a good chance to making it to the playoffs this year again.

Our boys didn’t win that night but played strong and hard all the way towards the end of this high intensity game. Good luck at the next game!
