Minarets Baseball Update

Updated: May 20, 2020

For the first time under the leadership of Coach Jesse Darrah, our Mustang’s baseball team is undefeated at 5-0 and also the champions for the second year in a row of the Battle on the Mountain Tournament. Aaron Hall and Matt Painter’s pitching, along with RBIs from Redman (4), T. Painter (4), and Walden (4) have led our team to victory. Tylor Painter (.563), Aaron Hall (.357), EG Walden (.417), and TJ Garner (.400) are currently leading our team’s batting average. Matt Painter and Aaron Hall both are 2-0 with their stellar pitching and Chris Bowe is 1-0. M. Painter and Bowe are leading the team with zero earned runs on the season, Hall has a .7 ERA.

So far, the Mustangs have played McLane (W 15-6), Mariposa (W 4-3), Yosemite (W 8-3), Sierra (W 3-2), and Liberty (W 6-3). Minarets has already played their division rivals when they played their first game ever against Yosemite in the Battle on the Mountain Tournament. After an exciting victory against the Badgers, Darrah quickly got his team, ranked number one in division 5, back to work to prepare for tough games against Sierra and Madera Liberty, ranked number two. M. Painter dominated in a complete game against the Chieftains in a close 3-2 victory on Tuesday, March 6th. Hall took the mound on Thursday, March 8th versus the Hawks in another complete game for the Mustangs with tensions running high.

Coach Darrah says, “I am looking forward to the season and am very proud of the work this team has put forth to go undefeated thus far. We still have a lot games remaining for the season and have no time to slack.” The fans have shown major support for this team and the Mustangs have been feeling the love. Upcoming games include: 3/10 versus Mendota, 3/13 @ Washington Union , 3/16 versus Coalinga, and 3/20 versus Livingston. Come out and support Mustang baseball as they fight to continue their successful season.
