On Friday, April 6th, the Special Olympics will be returning to Minarets High School thanks to senior Jacob Cullen. He explained that he chose this as his SLE because he has a family member who works with the Special Olympics program and he was inspired by their work. He was also inspired by the programs mission to "transform lives through the joy of sport."
For those who don’t know about the Special Olympics, its been around for 50 years and is an all year events that million of people participate world-wide. Their goal is and everyone feel welcomed and loved while participating in a variety of sports at each event and Minarets was proud to hold an event last year.
Jacob's plan is for the event to be a field day at Minarets High School with participants from multiple schools from Fresno, Madera, and Coarsegold. Lunch will be provided during the day and sports will be played during this event.
One of the most important details about this SLE is that everyone involved make a pledge to insure that everyone is treated kindly and equally during the day. Anyone can join this event, it is welcome to all.
Please come support Jacob Cullen on this day of great opportunities.
