The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress(CAASPP) are a series of tests given to high school juniors all over California to gain a general understanding of the performance of students currently enrolled in high school. For Minarets, the CAASPP testing will be this upcoming week of May 21-24 with tests being broken up over multiple days.

There are special rewards given to students who score at the standard score or exceed standard scores as well:

  • Students who meet the standard will be invited to the Fall CAASPP rewards party which will involve food, drinks, and giveaways and will be exempt from taking required CSU EPT/ELM. They may also be exempt from participating in the CSU Early Start Program.

  • For students exceeding standards, they will receive an invitation to the rewards party, a letter grade bump for spring grades in the subject they scored advanced, and will be exempt from taking the required CSU English and/or Math placement tests as well as exempt from participating in the CSU Early Start Program.

There are three tests juniors must take for CAASPP altogether but students can prepare by using the practice test resources on the CAASPP website, getting a good night's rest each night before the test days, making sure to eat, and doing relaxing activities or hanging out with friends in between tests.

Remember that these tests do not determine grades or futures but everyone should try their best!
