Minarets High’s Digital Journalism class is now a student-led environment! We congratulate Lyric Ashton as the Editor in Chief, Josephina Emerson as Junior Editor in Chief, Maximus Porter as the News Editor, Isabella Barnes as the Sports Editor, and Jordan Sands as the Social Media Editor. Digital Journalism is a Minarets Press class that comes together to make Minarets High’s media more up to date and lets you know the inside details on every school event. Everyone has a direct assignment to either film, take pictures, write, or even interview people about different school events. We’re definitely excited to see the creativity this class is going to bring to our Minarets Press. Mr. Sconce, the teacher that started it all, had some exciting words to share about the class. “I think the goal of Minarets Press is to be completely student-led. Students know what's happening with their peers and deserve to be represented by those who know them best. We have an amazing team and I'm so excited to see what they do.” Even the principal at Minarets, Mrs. Corippo, supports this team. “I couldn't be more excited about the fact that the press is led by students because it empowers them to have a voice. It's nice to have the students' view on everything rather than just adults.” Our students are future leaders and it all starts here, the Minarets press room.
