The 2018 Minarets Veterans’ Dinner is quickly approaching. This year, Jaycee Roberts and Lauren Childers are working to organize and put on the dinner for their SLE. Jaycee Roberts has high hopes for this project, saying, “We are going to make sure that the dinner will be a supportive environment for our veterans and our community.” This project is also important to Jaycee and Lauren due to their family connections with the United States Military. “My grandfather was drafted and served in the Vietnam War for several years. That’s part of why this dinner is so important to me,” Lauren states. This dinner is also important to Jaycee, who’s brother is currently active in the United States Army. She says, “This is the least I can do to honor and recognize my brother and other veterans.”
The dinner will take place here at Minarets on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018 at 6:00 p.m and will be held in room 303. If you personally know a veteran or are a veteran yourself, we would love to have you come to our dinner this year! If you are interested in attending, please contact Lauren Childers at lauren.childers@mychawanakee.org or Jaycee Roberts at jaycee.roberts@mychawanakee.org to confirm your spot. Spots are not limited, however, an RSVP is necessary for the head count. We hope to see you there!
