It’s no secret that our team has had their ups and downs this season, but Coach Becher Marr continues to be proud of the hard work these boys are putting in. So far this season the Mustangs have broke many school records for offense including most passing yards, most receptions and most points in a game. Mustangs have a 1000 yard rusher and a 1000 yard receiver, they have passed for over 2000 yards, and have set new school records for amount of points scored.
The Mustangs football team has also had some challenges which include: ball security, a lot of turnovers, fumbles and interceptions, all of which makes it very hard to win games. When the other team has extra tries at scoring then you can find yourself behind in games.
The Mustangs has a very strong before game ritual of saying a prayer. Coach Marr says, “I think football is very intense and emotional, so slowing things down for a minute and calming down for something positive can help everyone stay focused.“
Coach Marr and the Mustang’s team “motto” is "One More Play." Every time the boys start to feel tired, they say “I got one more” and every time they want to quit they say “I got one more” and they go as hard as they can, one play at a time. Along the lines of their ritual Coach Marr and our Minarets Mustangs would like to acknowledge John Lorenzana the team Chaplain. Lorenzana is an awesome man that helps run the schools Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FCA, and he is always out at practice in the summer, games, and
Everyone at Minarets is very proud of the work our Mustangs Football Team has been putting in this season.
