"What are you your plans for after graduation?" The age-old question that high school seniors are asked during their seniors. For some, it causes stress, but senior Aaron Hall can proudly declare that he has committed to West Point Academy, making him the first-ever Minarets student to commit as a NCAA Division 1 baseball player. This accomplishment has been years in the making.
During his high school career, he has achieved a cumulative 4.29 GPA by taking multiple Advanced Placement courses while also playing on the varsity baseball team all four years, allowing him to grow in his skills each year. Aaron is also a member and leader in countless clubs, including Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Future Farmers of America (FFA), California Scholarship Federation (CSF), founding member of National Honor Society (NHS), Key Club, Leadership, and Associated Student Body (ASB). He has also received numerous awards, including Operation Homefront's 2018 Military Child of the Year and first place in North Fork Lions Club Student Speakers Contest in 2018 and 2019.
Outside of the halls of Minarets, Aaron played for three different baseball teams and countless tournaments and showcase games. When asked how he had gotten in contact with colleges and/or their coaches, Aaron said, “I made a list of colleges I wanted to go to and I emailed the coaches; those who contacted me back I made sure to stay in contact with.” He was also able to establish contacts with coaches during the five college showcases that he participated in.
With all of these contacts, Aaron's goal had always been to play baseball for West Point. In pursuit of this goal, he attended West Point prospect camps where he got the chance to talk with West Point coaches who helped him and gave him feedback on how to improve. Afterwards, West Point coaches came out to California to check up and also to scout him during a few of his tournaments that he played in outside of school.
We are proud of Aaron Hall and his exceptional accomplishments. We look forward to what his future has in store!
