Nothing makes our school more happy than seeing students succeeding in achieving their goals. Seeing kids heading out to the college of their dreams makes both the teachers and students very proud. While college is great, one of the most selfless things someone can do is to join one of the branches of the military to help protect our country. This article is dedicated to senior Hannah Flanagan who has decided to join the Marines.
“I want to join the Marines and follow in the footsteps of my parents and other family members, to see new places, and gain independence… I was sworn in on February 21st in Sacramento by my grandfather who is a retired Marine Corps Colonel.” She hopes to work for logistics or public affairs, but she hasn’t received a job yet.
Hannah's drive for success comes from the pride, challenge, and independence. Hannah is not only a great student, she has done an array of sports and extracurricular activities such as FFA, Leadership, and Link Crew. Hannah also organized and volunteered for several selfless activities such as Dress a Girl Around the World and Campaign for Care.
Hannah Flanagan is a role model for students at Minarets High School and she is proof that you can achieve your goals if you work hard enough.
