2024 Senior Barbecue

By Zoey Matheson

This year’s senior barbecue was a huge success. On Wednesday, May 9, our senior barbecue was held at lunch, seniors were released a little earlier at 12:10. Our seniors were given extended lunch for the day to have time for more fun activities and food to enjoy! Homemade food was cooked and served by parents who came to support and offer their time and energy to help out at our senior barbecue. The event consisted of fun outdoor activities involving every senior, including prizes that could be won in a raffle. We as Minarets always want to show our support for our seniors' hard work and dedication to this school and give them many fun activities like the Senior Barbecue towards the end of the year.

Lunch began with seniors gathering next to the gymnasium for their food where tables were set neatly with tablecloths and decorations.  The food table where parents were serving was organized and neat, with options between hotdogs and hamburgers along with chips and ice-cold drinks.  These were the parents who helped us through this event.

The games that were played throughout the lunch were the Saran Wrap ball game, corn hole, volleyball, and many others.  For the Saran Wrap ball game, small prizes and raffle tickets were hidden throughout the saran wrap.  To win a prize, you had to find one.  All seniors were gathered around the combined tables and worked together to tear apart the ball.

Overall, our 2024 Senior Barbecue was successful, organized, and full of fun.  We thank our Minarets staff and parents for the effort and support in this event.  Many seniors enjoyed their time participating in the games and enjoyed the food.  We hope to see how next year's 2025 Senior Barbecue will come together!  Congratulations to our Seniors.
