All About Mrs. Gamble

By Trisha Schoonover and Eva Clinton

Mrs. Gamble, Minarets’ outstanding art teacher, has been working as a teacher for 18 years, 11 here at Minarets. She has a very comfortable, yet professional, presence whenever she is around. Mrs. Gamble’s art classes are fun and always give students a good challenge. She pushes others to be their best and helps other students find new things about themselves, growing or gaining new skills.

Mrs. Gamble says that the best thing about being a teacher is the connections she makes with her students and forming friendships. A challenge she has faced during her time teaching, along with something she would refer to as the worst part about being a teacher, is the disrespect she gets from students. Having students who ruin it for everyone else makes it difficult. She states, “The lack of worth ethic is really hard to justify for some students.”

Additionally, Mrs. Gamble runs the Minarets’ Art Club. This club holds fun events for students to show off their work. Mrs. Gamble does an Art show every year for students to be involved in a professional event, giving kids exposure and helping students become more confident in their skills. Mrs. Gamble feels that events like these can really help students “Go Pro”.

Mrs. Gamble was asked what accomplishment has filled her with pride so far in this school year. Mrs. Gamble goes on to say that doing this fall art show, the Art Festival that is being held on October 14th by herself and some Seniors for their SLE, has been an event she has been wanting to do for years. She expresses that she finally has students who are invested and willing to put their time and effort into this. Mrs. Gamble says, “If you're really interested in doing something, you don't mind if it takes time.” Mrs. Gamble has been a part of the Minarets family for 11 great years and she plans on staying in it for more to come.

Mrs. Gamble puts lots of time, effort, and money into her class, giving her and her students a creative workplace for assignments and for them to learn more about themselves through art. Safe to say that she deserves some recognition for all of the amazing things she does for her students, helping them grow and develop new skills.
