What a year it was for Minarets Athletics! In this article, we're providing a look at the most memorable moment for each Minarets Mustangs sports team.
Soccer's most memorable season moment occurred in the February 6, 2024 game against
Division Three Caruthers. The Mustangs were losing two to zero up until the second half of the game. In the second half, Gennie Munoz scored two goals; another goal was added by Cecilie Pederson. “It was a good game and I feel we played with a lot of determination.” Gennie Munoz. Caruthers then scored one last goal with less than five minutes on the clock. Both teams continued with strength and determination until the end of the game which resulted in a three-to-three tie.
The most valued accomplishment for the Minarets Baseball team occurred on April 30, 2024, the night of the senior night. The Minarets Mustangs won seventeen to two due to
their positive dialog adding an intense mindset, exact throws, and fast-paced approaches. They achieved superior at-bats, base running, fielding, and pitching. There was no method nor tactics that could have granted a better outcome, the win was well accomplished.
The Minarets Volleyball season's best initiated moment was on September 23, 2023, in the
Sunnyside tournament. It included when the volleyball team accomplished first place. There were many good attacks by Ada Miller as well as Violet Kelly and good blocks demonstrated by Kamryn Holland adding on Macy Ellis. The team exceeded first place by playing in rhythm and applying the strategies for the known methods. Such as exceeding with hits, bumps, serves, and digging. The team held diligence and a standard towards themselves for the best possible outcome which helped grant the wanted victory.
Basketball's most superior moment was achieved on December 27, 2023, in the presence of Mendota. A three-point contest occurred which Logan Davis had involved himself in. He achieved the shots with accuracy as well as maintained a calm and collective composure. He used the correct form and accomplished the wanted amount of shots. The team held unity by being encouraging, positive, and attentive. The Minarets basketball team’s most valued occurrence was made with the said player having bravery and the team’s present characteristic being harmony.
The Track team's top moments were the breaking of not only one, two, or three records. These include the 100, 200 and 400. Jabari Gomez accomplished these with not only confidence but drive, and desire. He had long strides, stayed present on his toes, and had consistency. “Breaking the records wasn’t hard because they weren’t set as high but it still was still a big accomplishment.” Jabari Gomez. The track team as a whole is filled with aspiration, consistency, and determination which was greatly distributed throughout all runners. Although Jabari Gomez’s achievements were rather outstanding, the other runners held
equal value towards the team.
