Who would’ve thought that Adam Sandler would be seen multiple times at our small school? Thanks to our phenomenal homecoming dress up day themes, many awesome costumes were showcased. Participation was high and the week was filled with outfits with a ton of commitment and creativity.
While many days of Homecoming Week were fun and entertaining to see, it was clear that Thursday was a fan favorite. That day was Adam Sandler Day and one could spot various baseball caps and sunglasses along with a baggy ensemble. This was very clearly the most participation we saw all week.
Monday was filled with comfy pajamas and some people even brought blankets to their classes. Tuesday’s theme was Twin Day and the level of commitment that people brought was so fun to see. Wednesday was a combo of a Stranger Things and 80’s theme and Mrs. Corripo definitely stole the show with her fabulous neon outfit. Thursday, as I’ve stated, was Adam Sandler Day and an overall favored day. And to finish it all up, Friday was Class Colors Day so the Freshmen wore yellow, the Sophomores wore purple, the Juniors wore white, and the Seniors wore black.
Seth Clark is the person to thank for the amazing themes. He said that his favorite theme was “By far Thursday because it isn’t overdone like other ones,”. While selecting the themes, Seth made sure to connect Halloween with them as much as he could seeing as though our Homecoming theme was Haunted Hoco. The best instance of this was Pajama Day. Seth had the great idea of having it be Nightmare on Elm Street since that whole movie revolves around dreams. Tons of thought was put into Homecoming and it really showed.
Dress up days are always a hit here at Minarets and Homecoming was no exception. Every day was elevated by the array of fun costumes. Our Haunted Hoco was a success thanks to everyone’s dedication, especially our Leadership team who put it all together. Next year can only get better and hopefully the participation will follow.
