On Nov. 5, the Minarets volleyball team played Washington Union for the Valley Championship quarter finals. The girls played their hearts out and managed a win in a three game sweep. Although the game was won in three, each set came down to the last couple points each time.
In the second set, the girls were down 20 to 24 and came back to get a win with a score of 26 to 24.
Synovia Wold, senior and varsity volleyball player said, “This was one of the best games we’ve played because we all played together. We were very focused the whole time and it paid off.” It was an exhilarating and exciting game, and the volleyball team played brilliantly!
The girls moved on to the Valley Championship Semi-Finals, which on Nov. 7 at Sierra Pacific. Sierra Pacific was the number one seed in the championship so the game was no easy feat.
Prior to the game, Synovia wold explained, “Our team is very intimidating when we compose ourselves correctly. We need to be loud and full of hype during the Semi-finals. I believe that Sierra Pacific is going to underestimate our team because they are the number one seed, but that will only make us have an advantage. I like being the underdog,”
The team played three hard games but unfortunately lost. Like in the quarter finals, each set was close and each teammate played their hardest. Even with the end result, we couldn’t be more proud of the Minarets Volleyball team!
