Freshmen Advice

By: Charley Shipley

As the year comes to an end and our seniors are getting ready to leave, the new school year means the class of 2028 will become our new freshmen! In this article, there will be advice for our upcoming freshmen.

One of the biggest pieces of advice our current students have for our freshmen is DON'T do drugs. It may seem like a way to make yourself ‘cool’ or make yourself friends but in the end, it will only harm you and affect your school/personal life in the long run. It would also have a major impact on your physical and mental health.

The second piece of advice goes along well with the first one, hang out with the right

crowd. Try not to be friends with people who are going to have a bad influence on you, try to make friends with people who will bring out the best in you and won’t pressure you into anything. “Be yourself and make friends with people who like you for you.” - Jadyn Benak.

One final piece of advice for the incoming freshmen is to get involved with the school.

Doing at least one club and/or sport will keep you busy and would be a good way to meet new people who have the same interests as you, and it’s a great way to make new friends at school!

The anticipation for the arrival of new students to our school is evident, we can’t wait for the opportunity to welcome them into our community and see the things they do as Minarets Mustangs!
