Winter sports are back at Minarets, and the girls soccer season is off to a great start. Even though some of the games have been canceled due to COVID exposure on the team or poor weather conditions, these girls are a force to be reckoned with. So far the girls varsity team have won two out of the four games that they’ve played.
On Dec. 9, both of the girls teams sadly lost to Chowchilla, but it wasn’t an easy win for the other team. With JV only playing with eight players and no subs, the entire game was a hard one and they fought to the end. During the varsity game, the girls were able to score a goal against Chowchilla, who scored two, and these girls were not an easy team to beat. They fought to the end and were always ready for anything Chowchilla threw at them.
Senior Autumn Pearson, when asked about this season, said, “I’m really excited for this season, we have a good group of girls that make up a strong team.”
In the games these girls have played so far, they have already proven to be a strong team. With league games not starting until next semester, it gives these girls a chance to prove how good of a team that they can be.
