To educate parents on important current events and issues history teacher, Bob Kelly, encouraged many of his students to participate in classroom showcase. Students were stationed at laptops ready to present their websites to eager to learn parents.
Students websites displayed different political views on important issues. Parents viewed
the websites to educate themselves further on these topics affecting today's society. Senior, Michael Chacon, said “I thought it was productive in Mr. Kelly’s class. In his class, we had good debates about multiple topics such as climate change, gun control, immigration, etcetera. It was super fun!”
Kelly described his thoughts on the event, “Showcase was great. The students were great on the different issues and everyone was looking at each issue from both sides. Every website was created with good sources and everyone was thinking very deeply into each subject and not ignoring any factors when discussing with parents. I had a great time watching my students discuss everything with adults. Dr. Ching, Wilson, and Vandenberg all came into my classroom and said that the students were doing a spectacular job for Showcase.”
