Homecoming games: Pumpkin smash game

By: Michelle Vargas

Haunted Hoco was one of 2023’s biggest school events of the year! In order to get students excited for homecoming, Minaret’s leadership team put together lunch games for every day of the week. On Thursday the game was pumpkin smash!

On Thursday leadership got together and set up the game for our mustangs to participate in. Once the game was about to begin, leadership picked two mustangs from each grade. One mustang had to run to the other side and grab a balloon and quickly run back and pop the balloon on their partner without using their hands. For this game students there were two pairs of players from each grade. One person had to sit on a chair and the other had to run to get a balloon and quickly run back to their partner and pop the balloon only using their body. After the balloon was popped they would run back for another and the partner on the chair would switch to the next position.

These competitors ran as fast as they could and were all head to head with each other. All of them were doing a great job throughout this game. Many of the mustangs that were watching the competition were encouraging the ones playing.

Overall the game was very close but in the end the seniors won! The seniors who won were TJ Mcfarland and Daniel Stevenson. Wonderful job to all of the students who participated!
