The lush green grass, the blinding stadium lights, the energetic fans in the bleachers. Deep into the foothills of O’Neals, the much-awaited football game was on, a battle between the Minarets Mustangs and the Liberty Hawks. Only this time it was different. Former Mustang quarterback, Adrian Vasquez, was now flying with his newfound hawk wings. This was no longer a game of pride but a battle between friends. Torin Wolf, the Mustang's current quarterback threw many a ball but unfortunately, the Hawks had the advantage, winning the battle.

However, just because the Mustangs went down does not mean they are out. We’ve seen Minarets win against all the previous schools, bringing them to a 6-1 winning streak. Fighting hard, a notable touchdown came from quarterback Torin Wolf and wide receiver Caden Larsen in the third quarter of the game.  Regardless of what happened during the game, it was the end of the match that turned heads and hearts.

After the game, just before both teams went to pack up, something beautiful happened. Looking back at the stadium you could see a huddle of green and white, praying together. It was obvious during the game that all the players on both sides were familiar with each other and respected each other like no other team did when playing. Both Minarets players and Liberty players patting each other on their backs after a play is over. However, when all the adrenaline is done and over with, it is good to remember that everyone on the field is playing for the same goal; to win. That type of harmony after such a suspense-filled game is unexpected, to say the least, but not unwelcome.
