Students at Minarets High School may have just resumed in-person learning, but it is now that time of the year that students need to sign-up for classes for the 2021-2022 school year.
Counselors Jessica Chacon and Claudia vanDenBergh visited Minarets C's and English classes last week to walk through the process with students and helped them pick their classes through the Aeries Student Portal. It is recommended that students discuss their choices with a parent or guardian since changes can be made up until this Friday, April 30.
Each grade level has standard requirements that students are required to register for, including English, History, Math, and Science. Students also have the choice of a wide variety of electives that they can choose, ranging from Art to Ag Mechanics. Some new electives this year include Speech and Debate, Athletic PE, the return of Coding/Programing, as well as several new Dual Enrollment classes.
The Class of 2022 will also be required to take a new course called 'Living Pro.' vanDenBergh explained, “Living Pro is a brand new class this next year that will be teaching the incoming seniors about everyday life for adults such as taxes, bills, bank accounts, credit cards, etc. This is a class that is getting the seniors ready for the real world.”
While this last year has been anything but normal, Minarets High School will hopefully be returning back to life as we knew it prior to Covid next fall.
