Minarets Got Talent

During Minarets’s annual FFA week, the FFA chapter hosted its very own talent show! Primarily advertised through social media with talent submissions received via email, the talent show was “extremely successful” according to FFA advisor Eduardo Rubio.

There was a large variety of talents on display from the Minarets students, ranging from dancing and art to volleyball and baseball skills. There was no difficulty getting students to participate, according to Rubio. As he explained, all submissions were shown during an FFA meeting with many students, and at that time, students voted on a winner.

This year’s 2021 FFA talent show winner was junior Tyler Jones who showed off his talent of bronc riding. Jones has been bronc riding for almost a year now, competing in high school and junior rodeos. He also had qualified for the Challenge of Champions, a large competition coming up in three weeks. When asked about his experience with the talent show, Jones explained, “I was expecting to support FFA. I was doing it for fun and it was pretty cool that I was able to win it. Thank you for the votes.”

Jones wasn't the only one to have fun with the experience. Another participant of the talent show was sophomore Jaylin Hogan, who says has she had a great time participating. Hogan expressed that it was a total success in her opinion and loved to see everyone interacting and having fun, saying she’d gladly join again.

Thank you to Minarets FFA for reminding us how incredibly talented the students at Minarets High School!
