Week 1 -
Your Mustangs battled through a second half comeback against “St. Genevieve”. Minarets was down 21-13 then rallied together in the 4th quarter to score 2 touchdowns and 2 two point conversions. Both touchdowns were scored by Clovis East transfer, and Cal Berkely commit “Jamie Spurgeon” to coming out with the win 29-27. Spurgeon finished week one with 183 AP yards.
Week 2 -
Minarets beat “Modesto Christian” in a penal
ty fest 20-0. The Mustangs finished the first quarter 13-0 and cruised to the finish line scoring one more touchdown in the 4th. Running back “Killian Paschall” scored two of the three touchdowns both rushing on the ground accumulating to 16 carries for 140 yards.
Week 3 -
As your Mustangs come off 2-0 they host Fresno High this Friday. Fresno High is currently (0-2) without scoring a touchdown this season. Minarets will be looking to keep this trend going with a strong defense consisting of “John John Drake” on the D-Line with multiple sacks and TFL’s through only 2 weeks. This defense also holds great over ball defensive backs although a new corner back steps in this week, “Jimmie Bourdon”. Minarets will also be without their star Tight End “Jamie Spurgeon” as after a Thursday pre game practice he suffered a minor knee injury and will be back week 4 to face local rivals, the “Liberty Hawks.” Show up and cheer on for your Mustangs this Friday to face Fresno High to advance their record to 3-0!
