To kick off the 2021 school year, the Mustangs welcomed a new teacher on campus: Ag teacher Melissa Rios.
So far, she explained that she really likes and that everybody is extremely friendly; "atmosphere is wonderful and everyone feels just like a family." She likes that the students are excited to learn about the subject she teaches, which includes Ag Mechanics.
She did 4-H for nine years, which was when she really realized she loved being in Ag and that it was her passion. Rios absolutely loved working animals and she realized when she was mentoring students during college that she wanted to make teaching her career.
“I love being able to see kids grow, not only in skill, but as individuals. And seeing students be able to finish big projects." She previously student taught at Mariposa High School and, before teaching, she went to culinary school.
With the school year is in full swing, she is eager to get students into the shop and to see what the future has in store.
