PBE Season is Here!

Updated: Sep 27, 2020

It’s that time of year Mustangs! As the school year comes to an end, freshman through juniors create and present their PBE’s. For all of you who are unaware of what a PBE, but its a Personal Brand Equity presentation where you reflect on your school year. In this project, you will discuss things such as what you have learned this year and what you are known for as well as your favorite projects in your classes. Along with these things, you will discuss what you plan to be known for next year and a skill you plan on working on for the next 90 days.

According to sophomore Cody Huckabee, “I believe that our PBE’s help us excel in our academic career by preparing us for what employers are going to ask you and make you present in order for you to get a job. While you are presenting it resembles a resume to a panel of people who could be potential employers”.

For the freshmen, this will be the first year that they will be discussing their year altogether in a professional environment. Since this can be nerve wracking process, freshmen do their PBEs within their Minarets C's classes. According to Minarets C's teacher Kaitlin Morgan, "I walk students through the PBE process in a structure way so they are set up for success. This also helps them prepare for their sophomore year PBE."

Sophomore will present their PBE in front of a panel of staff members and administrators, which is much different than presenting in front of a class. Sophomore Cody Huckabee gave us some insight on how he is feeling about this change, "I am obviously nervous as I’m sure most people are but I wish everybody the best of luck”.

For juniors, they will go back to presenting within a class, specifically English 11 with teacher Michael Vaughan. Instead of keynote, they use iBooks Author, integrate more technology, and start planning for their Senior Legacy Experience

Instead of reflecting on one year, seniors do their PBEs in the form of the Senior Advancement Project.

Good luck to everyone!
