With her senior year coming to an end and graduation approaching, senior Jadyn Stafford takes the opportunity to reflect on her years at Minarets, filled with many achievements and memories. She explains she has truly enjoyed her time at the school, connecting with others and growing as a person.
A student very involved in her school and community, Stafford has worked hard to leave an impact during her time at Minarets, from her leadership roles over the years to her involvement in many clubs on campus.
Stafford currently serves as Associated Student Body (ASB) President where she has been elected multiple times by her peers to serve as an ASB officer. She also currently serves as President of National Honor Society (NHS). She has been involved in NHS since the beginning of her sophomore year and started an NHS tutoring program in order to raise money for the club and help students succeed. Stafford has been very involved in leadership, Key Club, yearbook, a Link Crew mentor, California Scholarship Federation (CSF) lifetime member, varsity soccer captain for three years, and a Student Allies for Equity (SAFE) member.
As senior Kealani Peterson describes her, “Jadyn is very determined and hardworking. [As well] as a natural born leader. She impacts [others] by always making them feel included and is friendly to everyone.”
Stafford believes that her involvement in leadership roles has benefitted her greatly with getting into college and preparing her for her future career. With all of the extracurricular activities she has been a part of, she explains that, although academics is important in getting into colleges, she believes participating in extracurricular activities shows students’ passions and how they are able to balance their time.
Stafford explains, “My top choice for school is Berkley [where] I want to study either global business or international relations so I really look forward to in the future getting to experience a lot of the world and getting to hopefully travel a lot and do my work through that and also getting to move my way up in business or somewhere in management. I feel like a lot of what I have done in school and my different activities has been leadership-oriented so I want to do that in the future.”
Leaving high school, she says she will miss all of the people she has met during her time at Minarets, from her teachers to all of her friends.
“I have definitely learned so much [from] not just the basic stuff that we do, but all of the people [I have met at Minarets]. I have really enjoyed it with all of the friends I have made in a ton of different groups from the different stuff I have done [which] has definitely been one of the bigger things I have taken away.”
