Senior Spotlight: Seth Clark

By Grace Noonkester

Seth Clark is a senior here at Minarets and has spent all four of his high school years with us. You may have seen him on stage in many of Minarets’ plays, leading an activity at our rallies, or around campus taking pictures. He has served as the president of the drama club this year and last year and helped elevate our department. Seth's dedicated involvement in Minarets' creative endeavors, from his leadership in the drama club to his SLE, shows his care towards bringing a new level of theatre to Minarets.

Seth first heard about Minarets in 2019 when he and his family moved to the Madera Ranchos. His brother chose to switch to Minarets so he could join our baseball team. Once it was Seth’s turn to choose a high school, he ended up choosing us. Thanks to that, he’s been able to take classes such as Media and Drama which have been his specialty. While many teachers have provided Seth with support and guidance, the person who has had the biggest impact on Seth is Mr. Petrie, our drama teacher. Seth says, “When he first came to Minarets the drama department was kinda of in shaken and shambled state and he started giving advice to many students, myself alike. That led to me becoming the drama club president and getting to work alongside him for the last two years, learning more about a space I’ve been in my whole life and it becoming a possible career choice for me.”

In return, Seth has impacted Minarets through his SLE. He partnered with Grace Noonkester to fundraise for the drama department. They did this by hosting a Christmas festival and selling holiday treats in Tesoro Viejo. Minarets Drama’s name got spread around more thanks to Seth and his dedication. Seth will continue to be involved by playing the role of Ed Carmichael in the upcoming play “You Can’t Take It With You.”

Seth’s favorite thing about Minarets is the memories he’s been able to make. He has learned many valuable things he will take with him long after his time here. Of all the moments Seth can recount, his favorite is working on the plays with his friends. Being able to work on something he really cares about with people he really cares about is his favorite part of our drama department. After high school, Seth plans on continuing his journey in theatre and pursuing acting in Los Angeles. His passion and enthusiasm for drama prove he is perfect for this career.

Seth has undoubtedly left a mark on our school. He has set an example of fervor that will continue to show itself through the projects he’s been involved in and the people he’s uplifted. Although his upcoming absence will be felt, Seth has inspired countless individuals to strive to fill his shoes.
