Teacher Feature: Eduardo Rubio

Updated: Sep 27, 2020

Eduardo Rubio, Minarets’ newest agricultural science teacher, has began his career of teaching here at Minarets. Prior to Rubio joining the Minarets staff, he had student taught at Kerman High School and Le Grand High School refining his teaching skills. Rubio will be teaching Ag Food and Natural Resources, Ag Soil Chemistry, Integrated Agrisystems and Veterinary Sciences. He began the first week of the second semester facilitating team

building activities on the class so that he could get to know the students and so they could get to know him. He started off with the classic name game the game where the student will think of an adjective that starts with the same letter as their name. Rubio then moved into a survivor game were students each picked one item and were voted off the island if the class deemed the item less important than the others. The eliminations counted until only of survivor was left. This ice breakers may seem small but they were a great way to instantly gain a connection with his classes.

The overall perspective of most students on this new teacher is a positive one, he has come into the school with a positive and fun attitude that seems to be a great fit for Minarets.
