The Breakdown of a Senior’s SLE It’s time for the Art Festival of the year

By Anastasia Salazar

Three bright seniors are working together to create the ultimate art festival! This art festival is being put on by senior Eva Clinton, with the help of seniors, Mark Ledgerwood and Brenna Barnes, to showcase Minarets student's art projects and get people interested in the art program. This festival will be held on October 14th at the Hilltop Home and Garden Shop, in Coarsegold Village. According to the seniors, there will be crafts, activities, food, live music, and our very own Minarets students, art for sale.

This art festival connects to the senior's skills and passions by letting them express their love for art in a very special and fun way. Eva explained, “I have always been interested in art and it’s a passion of mine that I finally get to showcase.” Mark added, “It connects to my care for teaching and it connects to Bren's immense skill in art.”

Eva and Mark both have stated that they want to accomplish tremendous things when putting on this festival. Eva states, “I hope that I see happy smiles on everyone's faces and that people enjoy the art on display.” For Mark, he wants the elementary students to have a fun day off of school and enjoy the art festival.

The seniors are hoping for large numbers when putting on this event. Getting as many people as possible to attend is something they are working on. They have also included Minarets art teacher, Mrs. Gamble, to help mentor their SLE and guide them through this significant event.

This SLE has been well thought out and is going to leave a lasting impression on the art program. These seniors have high hopes that the next seniors who take on this project will make it even greater, and hopefully keep the legacy going for years to come.
