As many people know, SAT testings will not be taking place this spring due to the shelter in place order and social distancing regulations throughout the country. Tests scheduled for March or May have been canceled and testers have been refunded for their testing registration. Testing is planned to continue into the months of August, September, and October for high school students in the Class of 2021, but College Board’s website states, “Our top priorities are your health and safety. Please note we’ll only move forward with the administrations if it’s safe to do so from a public health standpoint.”
AP courses are definitely different during this time. Junior Ayden Pires stated, “It really depends when it comes to taking AP classes online. Having one assignment per week is a lot better than being rushed with assignments in a physical class but having direct contact with teachers can make life a lot easier. Online classes have harder deadlines when you are able to contact a teacher they can make exceptions.” Many students are having a hard time adjusting with the change but overall they’re getting used to their online school schedules.
On top of these changes, AP students now have the added stress of AP tests going online. According to College Board, all AP "exams will only include topics and skills most AP teachers and students have already covered in class by early March" and will be made up for free-response questions. For more specific information about AP testing, please visit the College Board website.
