FFA August Meeting

Updated: May 20, 2020

By Michael Rezendes and Dilan Basila

On August 26th Minarets FFA hosted its first meeting of the year. With opened arms, they welcomed freshman to the organization as well as returning and new members from the other grades. The officer team was pleased with the 118 attendees and 7 guests present at the meeting and addressed the old business that took place over summer. The team also announced their theme for the year, “Insure your future with FFA” where they will be using different insurance company commercials to promote and highlight their activities.

Amendments were made to the constitution, bylaws, and point award program. Members announced about new and upcoming events our chapter will be holding including Madera Fair, Sectional Activity Night, and participation at the home football games.

At the conclusion of the meeting everybody gathered at the tables and the grass to eat ice cream and play water slide kickball. Everybody really enjoyed the activity and it was a great night! Deven Skouti, a Minarets sophomore, really enjoyed the first meeting and said “The FFA was something I was really interested in so it was good to see that I enjoyed my first meeting as Minarets FFA member.” Hope to see you at the next meeting!
