This past week marked the sixth time that Minarets FFA attended the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. We had eight members attend along side the other 65,000 members from across the country.

This also included out State Champion Marketing that competed in the National Marketing Plan Competition. The team consisted of junior Garrett Alford, senior Ben Bellisario, and alumna Delaney Finnegan with advisor Miss Keeley Hall. They competed in the quarter-finals and the semi-finals, making it into the Top 4. In the Final Round, which was streamed live around the country, they ended up receiving 3rd in the Nation.

These students had the opportunity to attend various workshops and sessions where they learned valuable leadership and communication skills to bring back to our school. In addition to the convention, our chapter toured museums around the Indiana area. Our members got to tour the Kentucky Derby, the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Indianapolis Zoo, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Purdue University to see a Minarets High School alumni Jordyn Samper. Additionally, these students attended different general sessions and the nation's largest career fair as part of the convention.

Along with these 8 attendees, Michael Rezendes attended the conference as a delegate representing the California Association where he helped do committee work and transact business at the convention.

According to Junior Garrett Alford, "It was an honor to represent California and Minarets FFA, and I couldn’t be more proud of my team and how far we’ve grown as people."
