Many chapters of FFA, including Minarets, pride themselves on the CDE’s, or Career Development Events, that they compete in each year. Career opportunities abound within today’s agribusiness and agriscience industries. The key to achievement lies in the ability to think critically, communicate clearly and perform effectively in a competitive world. These skills as well as many others are enhanced through participation in CDE’s.
Minarets has already began practicing for various CDE contests, but it is not too late to join a team. Our CDE teams include: Natural Resources, Cotton Judging , Citrus Judging, Ag Issues, Ag Marketing Plan, Agriculture Mechanics, Agriculture Sales, Agriculture Welding, Best Informed Greenhand, Floriculture, Forestry, Land Judging, Livestock Judging, Meat Judging, Poultry Judging, and Veterinary Science.
Last year, our Marketing Plan team won the State contest, and placed third in the Nation, so this year our chapter is searching for even more successes. If any of these teams are of interest to you please see your Ag teacher immediately to be pointed in the right direction.
