The newest group of Greenhand Officers have been selected for FFA. During the month of September, fourteen freshmen FFA members participated in an interview and application process that would be the deciding factor of how the officer team would come together. The fourteen students who participated in the interview submitted an application two weeks earlier and were now on the final stage of the process. After the judges decided the final results, the scores were totaled and the team was set, but wasn't announced until the September 26th meeting of FFA.
The meeting probably felt like forever to those fourteen members knowing only ten of them would be selected. FFA Adviser Kenna Sandburg handed each of the officers a sealed envelope containing their fates.
The announcements began: first sophomore Justin Bowe announced the Greenhand Chaplin, freshman Abigail LaSpada. Then, sophomoreJake Dowell jumped up and announced the Greenhand Parliamentarian, freshman Kaileah Sandstorm. Next, sophomore Lilly Kier quietly announced the Greenhand Historian who was freshman Jacob Villoria.
By now all the members that hadn’t been selected were on edge, seven people were left. Then junior Garrett Bowe revealed the Greenhand Sentinel freshman Tyler Jones. Senior Katie Linderholm followed up Garrett by announcing the Greenhand Reporter freshman Ethan Weathers. Two more spots taken, the list was narrowing.
Junior Colby Jobinger announced the Greenhand Treasurer freshman Lane Sheehan. This was followed by Reiley who quickly announced the Greenhand Secretary, freshman Trever Jobinger. Seniors Dilan Basila and Natalie Anselmo announced Greenhand First Vice President freshman Brayton Stenberg and the Greenhand second Vice President freshman Jordan Basila. Lastly, senior Michael Rezendes announced the 2018-2019 Greenhand President as freshman Gracia Ellis.
The officers are excited for their year of service. They have already gone to a retreat to learn their responsibilities has an officer team. They will continue to grow has leaders in our organization and eventual they may become chapter officers.
