To celebrate our student achievement FFA held the annual Fall Banquet on November 28, 2018. Those attending were FFA members, their families, and members from across our community. At the banquet, some of our freshman competed in the ninth annual Creed Speaking Contest. In the contest Abigail LaSpada placed fourth, Lane Sheehan placed third, Paige Camacho placed second, and the overall winner was Adrienne Hall.

Members eligible for their Discovery, Greenhand, and Chapter degrees were

recognized for their hard work as they walked across the stage to receive their degrees. Three members received their Discovery degree at the banquet. Twenty one received the Greenhand degree and sixteen members received the Chapter degree, the highest degree a chapter can bestow upon its members. Now, those who have received the Chapter degree have met a requirement to receive the next degree possible for an FFA member, the State FFA Degree.

The banquet was ended with the announcement of the 2018-2019 Greenhand officer team. Those who will me serving alongside their Chapter officer counterparts are:

Abigail LaSpada- Chaplin

Kaileah Sandstorm- Parliamentarian

Jacob Villoria- Historian

Tyler Jones - Sentinel

Ethan Weathers- Reporter

Lane Sheehan- Treasurer

Trever Jobinger- Secretary

Jordan Basila- 2nd Vice President

Brayton Stenberg- 1st Vice President

Gracia Ellis- President

The FFA executive committee, chapter officers, greenhand officers, and AG teachers all helped organize this banquet. To get more insight on the coordination of the event I asked a member about the planning experience. I asked executive team member, Justin Linderholm, about how planning for the banquet went and he told me, “It went really well! We had a lot of fun and it came together so well and looked really pretty”.

Overall, the banquet went off without a hitch and celebrated our students’ success!

Be sure to attend the FFA Spring Banquet on May 28, 2018.
