The Native Club had a very important meeting last Wednesday about the project they will be doing on Community Day. Adviser Eric Fraley met with the club to explain how the process was going and juniors Ashley Davis and Darrin Coleman explained the grant that they received this summer and what they will be using it for. The money from the grant will go towards the project for the trees that were killed off and to help fix the trails in North Fork.
The Native American Club plans to clean up the trails and have them fixed so they can finally be open them to the public as well as taking care of the tree problem. The students, Ashley, Darrin, and Felicity will spend the money on supplies needed to help the project, get things the trail most needs, and help with the tree problem.
There will be another meeting this week before Community Day is here. The club will invite all participating students to meet as well. They will be discussing what the students will need, and what they will be supplying for the project. Eric Fraley will also be included with the project, as he was the chaperone for the NYCALC Conference in July. He will be discussing the plan about the project and as well as the three students who were involved.
The Forest Service will explain the process, and the three students, Ashley, Darrin, and Felicity, will explain what each student will be doing on the project. A limit of 25 students will be allowed to go to this activity and they will be learning about the grant and what they will be doing to get more information on the project for Community Day.
