December 17th, 2025 O'Neals, CA Susanna Kinnunen, Reporter

Christmas Tree Lane is a popular holiday tradition in Fresno, California, and a fun place to visit at night during the Christmas season. For over 103 years, this festive street along Van Ness Boulevard has brought holiday joy to the community. Each year, the neighborhood is decorated with colorful lights and displays that create a cheerful atmosphere for visitors. The glow of the lights along the street adds a special magic to the evening.

One of the most special parts of Christmas Tree Lane is the effort homeowners put into decorating their houses. Many homes are lined with lights and themed artwork that stand out in the night. One homeowner in the neighborhood shared how meaningful the tradition has been to him. Having lived on Christmas Tree Lane for 37 years, he mentioned that if he could earn money from the number of times people have taken photos in front of his artwork of Bob Ross, he would be rich. These personal touches show how much pride and care the community puts into keeping the tradition alive.

Visitors can experience Christmas Tree Lane by walking or slowly driving through the neighborhood. Walking allows people to take their time and look closely at the decorations, while driving offers a relaxed way to enjoy the displays. Families often bring snacks or warm drinks and spend time together as they move along the street. The mix of lights, decorations, and laughter makes the experience feel joyful and memorable.

Overall, Christmas Tree Lane is more than just a decorated neighborhood and remains a long-standing holiday tradition in Fresno. The experience brings people together and helps create meaningful memories during the holiday season. Whether walking or driving through, visitors can enjoy a festive evening that has been shared for generations.
