On Sept. 21, Minarets FFA took students to the Fresno State Football Game for Ag Fest night. Around 30 students attended from the O’Neals-Minarets FFA Chapter! One of the students that attended was Junior Lizzy Robertson; she went to the event last year and decided to go again this year. She said it was fun for her because she had the opportunity to hang out with a different group of people than her regular friend group. She laughed saying “I don’t really understand football but apparently it was an exciting and good game.” Despite her not understanding exactly how football works she would still go back because she had a lot of fun at the event.

Not only did we have students go but four out of the five of Minarets’s Ag Teachers attended as well. Two of them, Keeley Hall and Jessica Sweet, happen to be Fresno State Alumni. Agriculture Teacher, Jessica Sweet said “it was fun to see the kids to interact with other bulldog fans and root on the valley school.” For those attending one of the things that they couldn’t miss was how Agriculture Teacher Richard Chapman dressed for the game. He made sure everyone attending knew what college he was alumni from. He stuck out wearing all Green Cal Poly clothing. Robertson said “I just looked up and he was decked out in cal poly stuff, I did not think that would go over well.”

The game itself was a success for the Fresno State fans, the Bulldogs beat the Sac State Hornets 34 to 20. During the game there was an announcement made about the FFA and the names of the chapters attending were featured on the big screen. Overall it was a great night, and Students are encouraged to attend next year!
