Cross Country: Gliding Through the Night

Updated: Nov 13

On the night of October 24th the breeze was cool, the lights were radiating, and the runners' steps were full of power. Under the stars they took their places at the Annual North Clovis Twilight Run. During the meet they pushed limits sprinting through the town. This event took place over the span of 4 hours across a 5-kilometer course. The energy was high after the sun had set, the atmosphere buzzing with excitement as our runners weaved through the brisk twilight air.

Six members of the team did remarkably well, reaching new limits and setting new personal records. We spoke with one of the runners, Christian Prieto, about his mindset on personal growth. He shared, “Results don’t come without hard work.” This attitude perfectly represents the Mustang spirit, driven, focused, and always striving to be better. Runners claimed that they felt extra energized with something in the air giving them a boost, feeling faster, lighter, and locked in as they glided through the night, doing more than just running but shining under the night sky. Way to go, Mustangs!
