Faculty of The Week: Mr. Rubio, The Molecule Master

Writer: Minarets Press StaffMinarets Press Staff

At Minarets High School, students are lucky to have teachers who go above and beyond to make a difference in our community, which brings us to this week's Faculty of the Week: Mr. Rubio! He is known for his enthusiasm and dedication to his role as a chemistry teacher but also for his involvement with our school's remarkable FFA Program.

Mr. Rubio, like most of our Ag teachers, is from an agriculturally based town– one that, instead of mountains and cows, was defined by fields. He began his teaching career at Minarets after earning his degree from Fresno State and his student teaching.

When asked what motivated him to begin teaching, he stated, “I always had good Ag teachers, and they always pushed me to do more, be better, get more involved, and showcase myself.” The opportunities his teachers gave him made him realize his growing passion for helping students through FFA.

In a conversation about any advice for present and future Mustang students, Mr. Rubio shared his thoughts by saying, “Number one advice, always be true to yourself and always remember your foundation.” He continues to express the importance of self-value in his students by remarking that, “You are the light to this world, and without your true self, the world becomes a dark place.”
